How to communicate and negotiate within a research team during a pandemic

Background

Working within a research team comes with numerous hurdles that require effective communication and negotiation skills. Lack of overcoming the hurdles of working within a team can cause delays, misunderstandings, and insufficient progress especially when responding to a pandemic.

For success in a research team during a pandemic, understanding how to navigate different teamwork challenges regardless of position and personal interest and the methods to improve personal and group team effectiveness is essential. Despite researchers having communication and negotiation skills, so many researchers still face common hurdles of working within a team.

ALERRT and The Global Health Network have come up with a symposium to address this gap. You will have the opportunity learn from the experts and their roles and the hurdles in implementing research during the pandemic. You will have an opportunity to reflect, discuss and share about your experience working within a team as well as learn the crucial communication tools every research team needs. This workshop will train you on;

  1. Developing an understanding of communication within teamwork
  2. Gain effective methods to improve individual and team communication
  3. Understanding how to navigate and find solutions to different communication hurdles within a team
